Supernova!!!

So even tho I was so sure there was no way I was going to Nova this year, I DID!
At the 11th hour, my Dad called and brought My sister and I tickets to the event ^^

Sypernova is the annual pop culture expo that travels across Australia. This year the con came to Brisbane twice, first in April and this one in November . This time I went Lolita style!

I wasn't the only Lolita there of course, my sister went also, and a heap of other Brisbane Lolitas.
I picked up a heap of Madoka Magica merch and I got to hug a Madoka cosplayer ^^ Apparently she had a group but I never saw them all together T.T

It was allot more fun than the April one for me, probably because of the overall surprise of me going, and I had a heap of fun ^^

Moving house

So My parents moved down to Brisbane, my brother included of course, and I am now living with them in our new place.
It's a very 70's feeling house, but within three days it already felt like 'Home' which is the fastest transition I'v even had so far, and I'v lived allot of place! Got my room set up with a new sewing desk and it has giant mirrors on the cupboards right in front of my window so I get all natural light during daytime hours, which ought to be just lovely for photos. I'll take some pictures of my room later. On a more Blog relevant note!

I brought some over priced circle lenses from Elizabeth Arcade, I'm a sucker instant gratification...
I don't know what brand they are, but I do like them. I put them in and tried a quick GAL style outfit to see how it all looked.

River fire

In the end, my boyfriend didn't come to visit T.T
I'm kind of sad because I did want to see him, but his not coming down certainly made things allot easier for me. Plus now I will get to see him twice this month ^^

Regardless tho, my parents did come to visit, but I worked for most of their time here, and when I wasn't working,  they went to a modelling competition for my step-sister ( She's very pretty in a bonds commercial girl type way, and taller than I'll ever be. I do love her ^^ ) But we did manage managed to sit down for a couple family dinners.

My brother however, spent the whole week with me. Around three years ago my brother suddenly stopped being annoying, grew a personality and it somehow ended up being cool! ( Totally taking credit for that  xD ).  It was pretty fun. Saturday we went to Riverfire. It's a big event that used to involve tail-fire shooting airplanes, but they they ceased that two years ago now... I think. The whole thing is to celebrate 'Brisbane Week' and Riverfire is the grand opening, and closing ceremony deal. In short. It's fireworks.

So, to celebrate Brisbane week, I decided to wear my Alice and the Pirates, Night Fairy Fantasia JSK.
Unfortunatley we were in a rush to get out the door so all I have to show is an after photo. My make up has come off, and we actually had some rain drizzle that night, so my hair looks a wreck as well. But I still want to show you my pretty little dress ^^

Special Delivery

Today will now be remembered as the day that finally, after stalking EGL Sales and watching Japanese Auction houses, that I finally got my hands on...

ANGELIC PRETTY MIRACLE CANDY ONE-PIECE IN RED!!!!

and the joy I feel about this has me utterly jittery, jovial and downright jolly! I'm simply gushing with glee!
( Alright enough Alliterations, heh heh )

Miracle Candy was that one Angelic Pretty print that 'WOWED' ever since I saw it. Even as my Lolita wardrobe is growing darker and darker, this dress was never coming off my dream list. It's just that one dress I could never stop admiring. Several times I saw the pink jumper-skirt on EGL sales, or the sax one-piece, or even the triple-frill jumper-skirt in red ( that one I almost brought ), but it was always the Red One-piece, or nothing. And now, I'm so happy I never caved in ^^
There was also a wonderful surprise with my dress. MATCHING SOCKS! I didn't see them listed on the auction, but when I opened up the parcel, they were sitting there, folded with the rest of it. It just made a wonderful package so much better.

But of course this isn't where my luck stopped.
Just a few days after I had initially paid for Miracle Candy. A Black Lady Rose Mini Sleeve JSK came up. I had been looking to trade my pink JSK version for a Black one for some time now and this was just perfect! I sold my JSK on the Comms and got myself the black version with the money I received. So not only did I trade for my preferred colour, I also got to trade for the mini sleeve as well ^^ It was just really good timing on everything.

But now, here's what youv'e been waiting for, PHOTOS!

Just waiting around

So while I quietly wait for /stalk/ check hourly on my Japonica order to arrive, I was going through the Comm_Sales, when I found one of the items on my final lolita buying list. It's a black pair of secret shop shoes that I got at a rather good price, including shipping!

I like their not too plain, not too ornate style. I can wear them with either a busy print,  and not run the risk of distracting shoes, or I can wear them with a casual coord to raise Lolita factor. I also have several coords that are suddenly wearable, now that I have some black shoes.
And finally,  THEY HAVE HEELS!!! This is a big contributing factor for me, and is one of my top considerations when buying shoes. They pass!

I will post pictures once they arrive, as well as one of my Japonica parcel when it gets here ( It was in Sydney three days ago so I hope it will be here tomorrow. )

In other news, my boyfriend ( Lachlan ) is flying down this weekend with some friends and my GF Airlie, who I haven’t seen in over three months now, and I'm excited to go shopping with her on the Saturday. Also coming down is my Family. So Both my friends, and my family, are flying down on the same date, and staying for the same amount of time, and  I don't know how I'm going to organise seeing them both @_@

On the Monday, I'll be driving back with my Mum and Brother for a visit but my mother says we will not arrive home until Tuesday where the BF wants me to go clubbing that night...ahrg. Im not sure if everything is going to work. Mum wants me, Lachlan wants me, and I just want to see them both but I don't know how to manage when they both are making me feel so aweful about it ><

But yay shoes! xD

Last Wishes

So, with my Japan trip now needed to be saved for, my spending has to stop, and I have to start saving. However, There are just a few items I will allow myself to purchase before I put my debit card on ice.

1. A pair of Secret shop shoes in black.
I have no lolita shoes at all. Black is versatile and goes with everything.

2. A cute Lolita Wig.
I would really like something similar to this in dark brown.

3. A headbow.
This is very much just an, if it's the right price, and the right type sort of deal.
I'm looking for something black/purple with pearls.

I'll probably just make a head bow if I really have to, but other than this, I'm trying to tighten my wallet ><

And one last thing to finish this post. Before I found out I was going to Japan, I brought something super-special exciting on Mbok Auctions. I won't tell you just what it is yet, but it's something that's been on my wishlist forever, and I'm still amazing I nabbed it up! I'll show you when it arrives ^^

JAPAN HERE I COME!

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!!!112124792I1!!!1111ONE

I AM GOING TO JAPAN!!!! -Squee!-

This is so ridiculously exciting, I had no idea!
Last night my Mum and Step-Dad rang up to say that as my Sister's and Mine's Christmas present this year, they would be gifting us return flights to Tokyo!!!! -cue more delighted squeels-

We'll be flying out on the 5th of December and staying in Tokyo until the 15th.
And what shall we do for those glorious ten days? WE SHALL SHOP LIKE WE HAVE NEVER SHOPPED BEFORE!!!
Right now we're looking at accommodation and  budgeting how much we think we'll have to save for the trip, but once the boring stuff is out of the way, I'm mapping out every route to the Lolita and Gyaru stores across Shibuya and Harujukju and maybe stopping in at the Volks store as well ( $$$ )

Call me an ita, weeaboo or otaku if you want for being so crazed about this trip, but I couldn't care less right now,  you just be jelly ^_-

And now...something GAL related ^^

I've been working on this little project for a short time now and I'm finally ready to show it to the internet.

I made my own Hime-Gyaru  Dress!!!

Close up
Heh heh, yes I actually did it ^^ I'm going to be honest, it's pretty bad and this thing will never step outside of my closet, but I'm so proud of the lace trim, and the bias tubing, and how the skirt came out, that I really want to put it up here anyway. I'm sure it's one of those things I'll look back on and be like 'what WAS I thinking?' but for now, I'm proud to say it's mine. The dress is based on a JD Garments I saw on Closet Child, and have now lost the image of T.T

I know I have HEAPS of room for improvement, but this is my first Hime attempt and I'm happy with it for now. I really want to invest in some circle lenses and false lashes but this was just to see how I could Co-ordinate the dress.

Introduction

Welcome to the first post of Dark Sparkle!

This is my little corner of the internet to document well... a lot of things.
It’s somewhere to watch my growth through and in different fashions,  post updates on projects I’m working on/planning/ start but don’t finish, and a little bit about me too.

Predominately, this will be a Japanese Fashion blog, relating to Lolita and Gyaru Style, with pictures, tutorials and just my personal view of the subculture both internationally and within my local community.

Please also check out my sister blog Resin Runaways, which is about my ball joint doll hobby or if you're interested in Sewing, I have started up my blog Suspended Threads ( Or Sus Threads for short haha ) which you can also check in on ^^

That’s about it. Yay random first post!
